Co. Sligo has a rich and diverse landscape ideal for walking, hiking and trekking. There are extensive waymarked routes, coastal paths, mountain hikes and strolls through magical woods. The dramatic backdrop of Benbulben, glimmering Atlantic beaches, rolling green hills all offer the walker or those in search of outdoor activities a wide choice for all level of walker, both local and visitors alike.
Originally from Dublin, Steve Wickham has been living in Sligo for 20 years. Best known for his fiddle playing in the band The Waterboys, when he’s not touring or recording Steve and his wife Heidi spend their time exploring the many tracks and trails county Sligo has to offer. Steve and Heidi do two challenging walks over two days. Heidi knows this landscape intimately – she is a member of the Sligo mountain rescue team. These are magnificent walks taking in ancient history, incredible elevated views and seascapes.
