His 10km Dublin based walk follows along the banks of the River Liffey, starting in Chapelizod, going through Dublin City Centre and arriving at The Point by boat. Chapelizod is located in the western suburbs, on a quiet stretch of the River Liffey, David encounters people enjoying the River and local rowing facilities. Against the backdrop of lapping water, David’s attention is drawn to a sound installation called the ‘Voices of Memory’ created by Christina Kubisch. He arrives at Island Bridge, the location of the Irish National War Memorial Gardens, where he meets Margaret Gormley a superintendent from the Office of Public Works. Margaret gives David a précis of the political and architectural history behind the Gardens and they conclude the tour visiting the Book Room which houses Harry Clarke’s illustrated books of remembrance, naming the soldiers who fell in World War I. From the War Memorial Gardens, David walks to IMMA, The Irish Museum of Modern Art, he meets Barry Kehoe, the museum guide. Barry shows David the sculptures scattered throughout the museum grounds and they spend time admiring the formal gardens of IMMA.
