Irish historian and broadcaster, Professor Diarmaid Ferriter travels to Ulster to complete two trails on either side of the border. The first one is in the Sperrin mountain range in Co.Tyrone.

Lower Bann Part 2 - The Canoe Trip

After leaving Portna, Anna is on a trail that can be cycled along the main road or undertaken via kayak. This picturesque 5km canal excursion takes her from Portna to Movanagher. The final stage of this journey is 20km away in Coleraine. It is the largest town Anna encounters and it is near the mouth of the river Bann.

This is not so much a lake as a watery maze of islands, inlets and meandering waters. The two lads cycle along the Kingfisher cycle which goes all around Upper Lough Erne.
